Pegi Waffles for Everyone

"The best way to feel sexy is to surround yourself with fat people," my friend once told me.

Sadly for me, most of my friends are either stick thin, vegans or exercise freaks—It's a travesty I tell you! In fact, I refuse to set foot on the weighing scale every morning for the fear of what it might reveal. I have an allergic reaction to anything that resembles a healthy lifestyle and being a food photographer hasn't made my life any easier. My fridge is usually stacked with left-overs from a previous shoot, and everytime my work leads me to touch a platter of well plated mouthwatering food, I can't help but dab my fat finger on a stray drop of sauce, suck on it and bask in the glorious flavah! I think I might be diagnosed with a serious case of gluttony!

I recently did a shoot for Pegi Waffles. Some of you might not know it, but the tasty waffles you find in all Starbucks branches nationwide are actually supplied by Pegi. Yes yes, the one they serve with whip cream.

What makes Pegi's waffles so unique is that they're made with pearl sugars inside. So once you take a bite, you'll be surprised to find sweet sugar crystals scattering all over your mouth.

I ended up having stacks of these inside my fridge since the client had to bring a lot of samples to choose a"hero"(the best looking sample) from the bunch. We had plain, chocolate, and cheese flavored waffles for breakfast, everyday, for two whole weeks.

This is probably one of my favorite layout. The fresh blueberries are hard to come by. Did you know we have them here? I actually found them in SM super market of all places. And the old white planter box is such a treasure. I found it lying around in Dapitan, soaked with dirt under the rain. The owner sold it to me for P20.

Linen cloth makes for the best textured fabric. I've always wanted to do a layout of chocolate syrup dripping over a glass jar, and the blue linen complimented the brown perfectly.

For my own sake, I had to find a way to get rid of all these waffles before I stuff them all in my mouth. I might have to revise my friend's theory just a little bit though. I believe that the best way to feel and be sexy, is to make everyone else around you fat!(demon laugh) I gave free waffles away to friends and family who visited the following week. They all loved it, but I had to save some for myself too—I just couldn't help it. I recently took up yoga on a weekly basis! Clap clap clap! I hope I don't break into hives anytime soon!

WOW! The lighting is perfect.. yeah i know what you mean. I hate exercise too. I guess it's a lot harder when you have to face food everyday. Goodluck with yoga ^_^

@Junj: Thanks Junj! Try out some Pegi Waffles sometime:D
@Loren Marie: Hi Loren! Nice to see you back here! Yuh, exercise suck big time. But I have a feeling I'm going to regret not doing it. I guess yoga is a good mix of exercise and relaxation. It takes the drudgery out of the entire process since it's supposed to relieve stress and all.:D

Your revision is spot on. That's what I do ;)

Beautiful stuff! I can't decide which set I like the most, but I do agree that the blueberry one is gorgeous.

I am insanely jealous of your collection of distressed wooden boards, by the way.
